Welcome to our Story

Theatre South Productions (TSP) are a group of theatre-loving individuals who come together to express their joy of performing through various productions each year. Formed by a group of friends back in 1993, we are a welcoming club who still act like a group of pals!

Performing with TSP is a beloved hobby and a hugely rewarding creative outlet for everyone involved and the stage doors are always open for like-minded people to join. Every year we put on a number of productions of varying scale and size. From performing in big theatres in front of thousands to more intimate cabarets and concerts in our rehearsal hall (which scrubs up beautifully for show week), each production is approached with the same enthusiasm, effort and enjoyment.

They are managed individually, all with their own audition and rehearsal process and specific production team. The People That Do – lovingly referred to as PTD – are the brains and brawn behind TSP who manage every production.

Club Ethos

TSP is a warm, friendly and welcoming group of individuals with a love of musical theatre and performing. If that sounds like you, you’re off to a good start.

Everyone should treat all members, production team and anyone you meet when representing the club respectfully. We spend a lot of time together so let’s make sure it’s enjoyable.

Everyone involved with TSP is doing this out of a passion for the world of musical theatre and performing. It’s quite a mad and time-consuming hobby, which you potentially already know. But even throughout the hours of rehearsal, emotional after-shows and resulting hangovers, we still like to conduct ourselves in a professional manner and run the club as a business.

Have fun! If you’re not, or are struggling with anything, please talk to us.

TSP is a democracy. We are a fair and fully transparent club where open discussions and feedback are encouraged.

Above all the formalities

we are a collaborative club, always open to feedback and discussion. The members are the people who truly make the club and for that to always be the case, voices must be heard and valued. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions, share thoughts, put themselves forward for opportunities, but most importantly, get comfortable and be at home in TSP.
