Celebrating Pride at Glasgow: A Day to Remember
We were lucky enough to be blessed with an unexpectedly sunny day on Saturday 20th July, when our team had the honour of participating in this year’s Glasgow Pride, one of the most vibrant, inclusive and FUN days of the year!
Our float was a colourful representation of our commitment to equality and love, and featured around 100 members, friends and family of TSP who came together to spread the message of Pride with a unique (and fabulous!) musical theatre twist. TSP's float featured characters from our latest production, Kinky Boots, alongside some sneaky peeks of our 2025 production, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert – plus familiar faces from Heathers, Hairspray, Wicked and loads more. Marching alongside our partners, LGBT Youth Scotland, we showcased a vibrant display of joy and acceptance, reflecting the core values of the LGBTQ+ community – and our amazing float with its blend of colourful costumes and musical performances was a huge hit, bringing smiles, cheers and even some audience participation from the enthusiastic crowd!
Just as important as the message of love and acceptance is the reminder of the importance of visibility and solidarity in the fight for equality, and of the vital work being done to support and empower LGBTQ+ youth across the country. The dedication of LGBT Youth Scotland continues to inspire us to ensure we keep advocating for a more inclusive and supportive society Saturday was filled with so many amazing moments of fun, connection and celebration, and as we reflect upon such an incredible day, we are of course reminded of the progress that has been made – and of the work that still lies ahead.
We are so proud to have been part of such a meaningful event and to have had the opportunity to contribute to Glasgow Pride. Together, we will continue to march, to sing, and to stand up for love and equality. Here's to many more Prides to come!
